Use Fresh Scent to Help Capture Elusive Bucks on Film!
The above photo's were taken the first week of November at a mock scrap using "Timber Valley Fresh Scent volumizer"
Trail
cameras have quickly become an indispensable tool for most serious
whitetail hunters. Having the ability to know what bucks are in your area
not only adds a whole new dimension to the hunt it can dramatically increase
your chances of success come the hunting season. However, actually
getting those old wary bucks on film can be as tough as getting him on your
wall. We have developed a way of helping increase the odds of capturing a
photo that monarch in your timber.
1. Find an easily accessible spot with in
your hunting area that is high in deer traffic (buck and does both). Best
results will be found where an over hang branch is available. This could
be a field edge, logging trail, etc. it is very wise to avoid bedding areas as
you could permanently spook the buck you are trying to hunt. Hang a
trail camera following manufacturers recommendations.
2.
Using a rake pull the leaf litter back exposing the bare dirt. Take a bag
of "Timber Valley Fresh Scent
Volumizer" and empty half it on the dirt stirring it in using the
rake. This mock scrape will remain effective for approximately a week
before needing refreshed. This should be plenty of time for one or two of
the big boys on your property to show themselves. DO NOT check the trail
camera too often (more than once per week) as the activity could permanently
spook a buck.
